There are moments when I get caught out by God. When he breaks into my thoughts, and I have to brake, and go back and think about something because it came from nowhere.
Matt says:
thanks for being my test
Matt says:
you have earned yourself….
Kate says:
nothing?
Matt says:
a star!
Kate says:
i want a star STICKER
And I had this random God-break-in as I typed that… (star stickers were what you got in primary (elementary) school for being good. ) I heard this little voice whisper to my heart ‘I named a star after you.’
In other news, I now have a backpack. It’s a Kathmandu interloper v3, and stores 70L + another 15L in the detachable daypack. It cost lots of money… $341… funfun… yeah… Perth finances are going to be fun!

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more posts with the ‘dependence’ tag at some stage in the next year of my blogging future…
All I know right now is that God’s begun the process of stripping stuff away… and it gave me a little bit of a theological dilemma last night… in some ways, I suppose the ‘why does God let bad stuff happen’ question. There’s stuff going on in life and relationships right now that hurts a lot… but the thing is, that God didn’t make it happen, he’s just letting bits of my life be stripped away and I’m realising afresh my own humanity…
All I know, is that when I ask him to cause me to be dependent upon Him, is that I’m giving Him permission to let stuff happen that may not have been allowed to happen before…

This week, I have to do all my work before the weekend, I’m putting together a surprise project for my Mum (actually, its okay to post this on here since I don’t think she has my blog address? not many people do yet. maybe I should publicise…) since its her birthday when we go to Sydney, I have a schoolwork assessment to post by tomorrow, and we have summer camp on Friday so we’re going away to Taupo!
It’s going to be fun, but the problem is, I’m moving 2 days after we get back, and I haven’t even begun packing most of my stuff yet. This thing is going to come up on me so fast… 3 weeks and I’ll be on a plane, 2 weeks and Tiffany will be gone, 1 week and I’ll have moved. I foresee a few late nights… actually I can reasonably accurately know that the next few weeks will be crazy.
I’m really nervous to be honest… I don’t know where this ride goes from here, and I don’t like it.

I’m sitting at home, and my computer has picked up a broadband connection called ‘linksys.’ This is weird. For 5 months I have searched every corner of the house with my laptop attempting to connect to a neighbours broadband on occasion when my dialup died, but I have never found one. I know theres a couple round, but they’re all secured networks. Now, just sitting at my kitchen table, I have connection. This is strange.
Summer is kind of here. Except its windy. High of 20, low of 11. Right now, its about 15 degrees but feels colder cos of the wind. It’s 11am here.
Of course, right now in Perth, its 5am…16 degrees… and it’ll be much warmer cos of the no wind and humidity!

This is rather interesting… I’m sitting in the sound technician peoples room in some random recording lab in Auckland… listening to a new album being recorded by Cindy. Honestly, this sets a new record for 11.59travel… I decided at 3 yeserday to come, got my vaccinations moved up to a day early, and got them done at 4, booked my ticket at 5, got on a bus at 7.30pm and got here just before 7am this morning. Hung out with Anita who plays bass, and right now I’m watching Luke be locked in the equipment room so he can do vocals
I’m kind of tired. It’s 3pm. We’re likely to be here late… like midnight… but that’s okay…
Catch y’all later…
